Russian Bombers Fly Within 50 Miles of California Coast

Not physically as our least populated area (Aleutian Islands) is separated by the Behring Straight from their least populated area (Siberia).

Regardless, even though we pulled Russia's pants down by practically stealing Seward's Ice Box from them, they are closer than most of us would like. All the more incentive to keep pumping and g apologize to the Saudis to get them to pump more. Why? We need lower oil prices because punch holes in Russian and Iranian budgets, thus giving them less resources to wage war. The Iranians are now getting more heavily involved in Iraq now that ISIS and the Saudis won't be happy about it...all hell has broken loose in the region. So lower oil prices hurt the Russians and Iranians more than they hurt the Saudis and the USA.

Let's start pumping cash and material towards the Kurds because they and the Israelis are the only truly sane ones in the region also capable of stabilizing a looney-tunes brawl.

Norway has lots of oil in the North Sea. Let's keep pumping our shale oil and nat gas to provide jobs that deserve wages much higher than $15/hour and put a ceiling on those prices (even nat gas is becoming a global market).

I believe Russia needs oil around $105 a barrel to keep their spending up but Obama pissed off the Saudis so they cut back on their production = ObamaFS

Watch the latest Vice on HBO......
Is it about this very thing?

It discusses the ramping up of a potential cold war. 10,000 marines have joined with Norway fora yearly exercise. The U.S typically is not involved in it until now. Norway borders Russia and there is posturing as we speak.

Russia borders the U.S.

Totally agree, it's a shit-show and we need to send cash and materiel over there. Maybe some jawboning about the Keystone Pipeline and opening up the SPR with cause some traders to chill out.

So Dabone thinks the US should rely upon other countries for our energy.

Nice. That's approaching IMALOSER territory.

I do? I would suggest, however, it is much more complex than a bumper sticker slogan and the consequences, both intended and unintended should be carefully considered.

What was the down vote for? I didn't lay out a 6 point strategic plan for energy independence on a fucking internet message board?

I got shit to do.

Awfully FO,GGY for June in this thread.

Energy costs priced in dollars will continue to rise as we print. Shale oil extraction chewing up landscape and leaving an expanding toxic waste dump in it's wake is not a long term sustainable solution.
