A potential heavyweight matchup in this Round 32 battle between George Strait and Shania Twain

George Strait[/b]

If you talk to anybody in Texas and ask them who their favorite Country artist is, you'll hear things like George is the Best … George is #1. Simply put, he's known as King George and the moniker is justly named. Besides a catalogue that rivals anybody and a list of awards and accolades that is as vast as anybody, the redeeming quality of George is that all who have ever associated with him will quickly note that he's as real as they come and the stories of running across George on his golf course is generally met by saying he walks up to you, puts his hand out, and says "hi, I'm George." That's real.

Shania Twain[/b]

Bursting onto the mainstream scene in the 1990s, Shania didn't just extend the long history of strong female performers, but she was one of the first to come from outside of the traditional Country geographic region in Canada. Moreover, her cross-over appeal was super strong and you found her topping on both the Country and Top 40 charts. She's another artist where her accomplishments are vast and approached by only the legends in the history of the industry.

Cold Fort Worth beer just ain't no good for jealous
I tried it night after night
You're in someone else's arms in Dallas
Does Fort Worth ever cross your mind?

Voted for George but goddamned....Shania was en fuego.

She's still pretty damned hot but 90's Shania was fire. Like Top 5 all decade hot -which may in itself be a whole 'nother tournament.

I hate country western music. But George wins.
And the onions on Mutt Lange to cheat on her! She must not put out

I love George. Doesn't write any of his music, that pains me

George's super star status is really interesting to me. He's not a songwriter talent and just strums a few chords on stage. Plus he looks like a total goober in pressed Wranglers and an ugly western shirt. But the guy has a one in a million country voice.

I know there's just something about him. Pure class act.

You'd think he was from Nebraska and not Texas.
