Yella (I like to make you sound like an NWA member), listen to the following songs in this order.

1) Fade to Black
2) For Whom The Bell Tolls
3) Blackened
4) Master of Puppets
5) Battery

Slow and steady to mindnumbingly awesome. If by 5 you are not completely invigorated and ready to charge a hill and kill everything at the top, then you are doing it wrong.

Will do. AJFA is my favorite Metallica. It's where I most get their artistry. Fuck the bass being turned off - who cares?

Whiskey in the Jar is my favorite of the Metallica covers.

If you like covers listen to Garage Days re-revisited. When they do The Misfits Last Caress and Green Hell it is the stuff of legend. Also, check out their cover of Budgie's Breadfan. Required listening.

Listen closely to Master of Puppets and Sanitarium. Amazing these guys were in their very early 20's when they came up with this shit, and there was nobody to even sort of copy because nobody had ever done anything like it before. They were really at the absolute top of their game for MOP and AJFA.

I am not cultured like you and when I heard an orchestra playing Creeping Death I puked on my date.

He was pissed.
To be fair, you were likely going to puke on your date regardless

Just think if Metallica had had a good drummer and stopped making music after 92!!!! Jesus.

Masterful (outside of drumming) prior to that.

Superfan @Swaye where do you come down on Black album & beyond?

Black album was great, nothing like the first 4 which were otherworldly. Beyond Black they have had some good stuff on their last coupe of albums. Load and Re-load were abortions.

I was meh on Black at the tim and like it even less now. Stopped listening to anything new after that.

I think if you gave St. Anger, Death Magnetic and Hardwired a chance you would like some of it. It isn't Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning legendary shit, but it is good. Load[/b], Reload and S&M you can flush into a toilet.

Until it Sleeps is a keeper.

BAD ASS POTD.

fuck Metallica. They sued their own fucking fans

Shut up.

make me

the Black Keys do more creative stuff and I like blues-influenced music

In spite of my vote for Metallica, I prolly listen to the first 3 Black Keys records than Metallica's stuff. I fully appreciate and get Metallica and they are the #2 "true" metal band of all time (I consider Zep and AC DC as more "hard rock / metal"). But I really have to be in the right mood to listen. I was listening to Kill 'em All on the way home and thought I might crash my old SUV off the Aurora Bridge.

Try bumping Chief Keef on the aurora bridge after the Auburn game.

Funny thing is as soon as Lars got to be an average drummer Kirks bullshit bluesy wah pedal invested garbage overtook the band during Load and ReLoad
