I was pondering this the other day. But if you start running through the list of the greatest bands of all time, a majority of the key members are still alive. Same thing with the solo rock acts.

Did the greatest living guitar players stop being born around 1960? I know rock is dead now, but there have to be some newer-generation guys missing. Or is this intended to only be living from a bygone era?
It's hard, because rock is dead. Who are the guitar gods of the 2000's ?

I dunno. I quit listening to most new music a while back. Matt Bellamy of Muse is the most famous guitar player I can think of who's currently at the top. Dave Mustaine is still shredding in his 60's but he's more of a rhythm guy.
I mean, I've got a fair number of rock albums in my collection that were released post 2000. I just don't know who the rock guitar gods are anymore. I'm totally ignorant of Muse.

That's why they are a front man. A REAL front man can't be bothered with a guitar or bass. They are there to sing and dance and maybe play a little harp or tambourine.
