I got a new conspiracy theory on this guy. Epps was working on behalf or behest of someone on #TeamTrump and has made a deal to spill it. Hence the protection.
 
Bah. The FBI probably STARTED the Oath Keepers. They've been infiltrating groups since the old motorcycle gangs of Marlon Brando era. (I know he was only an actor). Hint: if you're thinking of joining a cool "gun group" your buddies have been telling you about, say Hi to the FBI guys running it.

However from what I can tell, his 'leadership' was always measured. It was always only 'enter' the capital. Nothing about what you would do when you get in.

If anything, I think he was an Oath Keeper and struck a deal with the Feds to provide info and communications in exchange for immunity.
 
Just guessing, but if Epps didn't work for the FBI they would categorically deny he was a paid informant. But they didn't. They just said they didn't know which is obviously a lie. If he had pled out for information, they still would say that he wasn't part of any FBI capitol incitement group.

The tell was when that bitch from the FBI wouldn't answer Cruz' question. Her response was 'not to my knowledge.'

Which mean her underlings are smart enough not to tell her EXACTLY what is going on in their shitty entrapment activities.
