I just listened to Joey Harrington sit and squirt eggs on the radio about how Central Catholic and Jesuit isn't as filthy rich and corrupt as you think they are at high school basketball, even though they clearly are.

Bend has just as much of a Tuskan Raider Shithole vibe as it does pretend rich people lifestyle vibe. Been there plenty of times and have lawyer relatives that still live there.

People forget Laurelhurst, Wedgewood, Sandpoint Cuntry Club, etc. are just a few miles from the hookers on Aurora Avenue.

We have our fair share Tuskan Raiders no doubt, but they are good distance from my house.

Look, I'm not here to bash another man's choice of zip code. We all have to chose the right place to raise a family based on career, cost of living, schools, etc.

But god damn it - I'm not going to have the awesomeness of Bend's Mt Bike scene (among the best in the US) besmirched from the PDX burbs. It's unseemly as @creepycoug would say!

While I support your enthusiasm of the greater Bend community, I will not have you besmirching the greater U-District neighborhoods. Yes, Ravena and Wedge are a couple of miles from Aurora, but Sandpoint and Laurelhurst are not that close. Come on Yella!

Fair point @creepycoug . There's lot of nice real estate in Seattle- e.g., Green Lake, Ravenna, etc, much close to 7-11 on Aurora than Laurelhurst or Sandpoint. But still it's the same distance from my house - 6 miles give or take - to the Tuskan Raiders of Central Oregon as it is from Costa's tasty Varlamos Calzones (Laurelhurst) to the Home Deport on 116th and Aurora.
