I'm hearing, probably from IMDB, that in trying out for the part after being just a technical advisor, he did 20 minutes of that without repeating a chinsult or slur.

That's what I recall reading about the film.
 
He was on the Carolla podcast twice in the last three years. More recent in 2016 wasn't too great, he sounded old or tired. In 2015, he was awesome, great episode, wide ranging stories.

I think he was just on a month ago or something. Sounded good always enjoy his stuff. A little underrated in Fletch Lives
