Question for the bored

I rented them once. They are cool and the assist makes shit super easy.

You can't leave that shit anywhere or it will be stolen though, that is why I wouldn't get one. Even if you lock it the battery will be stolen.

You jerk back and forth and go nowhere.
I live a mile from the Deschutes NF and am 10 mins pedaling from hundreds of miles of epic single track.

I don’t care if some milf wants to take her kids to school on a RAD e-bike or some oldes put around town on them.

But fuck these fatties on there e-mt bikes fucking up the flow of the single track trails. Pedal your bike and get some exercise or stay home.

Also we have a huge problem down here with dumb ass 12 and 13 years old racing around on e-bikes that are basically motorcycles. The law is 16 and over but their bozo parents don’t care.

I’m always down for some good fat shaming

I ride a xl sized full suspension carbon fiber mt bike. Very much 21st century technology.
That’s nice. But it doesn’t answer the original question posed.

If I was in the market for a xl suspension carbon fiber mountain bike, you’ll be the first guy I’d call.

But I’m not.

You can not walk or run for a mile, around my house, without being accosted by at least a dozen eBikes or scooters. Nine of ten are breaking the law. Age, helmlet, speed on sidewalks, etc. I kind of get it but once I confronted a dad and son that there was a bike lane inches away and he said it was too dangerous for his son. I asked him endangering strangers was better in what respect?

I don't mean to pick on @PurpleThrobber 's e-bike ambitions here and I'm sure his use case doesn't conflict with any of my e-bile grievances.

However, I still hate the fuck out of them due to aforementioned reasons.

They aren't legal yet on our single track trails in the National Forest but I suspect Big E-Bike and the out of shape fatties will win that battle.

Hang out around the places old fucks (like me) live, they drop like flies and the young heirs sell barely used e-bikes for cheap. Wait for the one you want to show up - trust me it will eventually show up
