Projecting 2026 Two Deeps

It's impossible to predict which 2026 signees will be able to compete for a starting spot and even in the two deeps so I'm not including any of them. Since this staff isn't afraid to play true frosh, we'll undoubtedly see a few guys burn their redshirts.
Other assumptions:
  1. I'm assuming Boston heads to the NFL as a 2nd or 3rd round pick. If he gets a 4th round grade and UW makes a strong offer, he could come back. I'm also assuming they have enough confidence in the WRs already on the roster so that they don't target a transfer WR.
  2. I'm assuming the staff decides to get a SR LT transfer (#2 priority) to hold down the spot for a year or to compete with the young LTs but they could decide to move Mills or Azzopardi to LT (not sure either have the feet to deal with elite pass-rushers).
  3. I'm also assuming that the staff will be able to get Anterior Thompson one last year, Armon Parker will medically retire, and Jayvon Parker will be fully healthy for 2026 (and may play in the bowl game)
  4. I'm assuming that that they will target a very good DE in the portal and that will be the #1 transfer priority
  5. I'm assuming they get a transfer CB to compete for a spot opposite Dylan Robinson in case the young guys aren't up to starting.

Absolutely need to get 2 impact upper classmen offensive linemen in the transfer portal if we're serious about competing. They were better this year but not a year of experience away from being elite

If I’m Walters and I’m still here next season, I’m moving Robinson to S opposite, McLaughlin. He looks better when he faces up to the QB and not panic running in coverage. He’s big, fast and tackles well in space.

Safety is set with RDA and McLaughlin. RDA is the best tackler on the team.

Kodi Greene will get every opportunity to be the starting LT. 5* tackles start for every team they play on regardless of conference. If he’s ready you play him.

The Coug LB will play if he doesn’t transfer. Someone from the LB group, maybe even two will leave.

Thanks for taking the time.
The OL does not look to be getting better with two complete question marks at tackle and even some of the optimists here already penciling in hypothetical portal grab as one of the saviors. Inside looks OK.
WR is very meh too. I mean, I like some of these guys as players but I dont see any Odunzeses or McMillans or even Polkses.
There hasn't been any sign of a difference maker at edge being on the roster. I know Durftoe flashes but bottom line is that he hasnt produced with any consistency. Who here seems capable of double digit sacks? Portal grab it is, I suppose.

honestly struggling to see how we're going to be better next year. How does that roster win 10 games? Still major question marks at EDGE and OL and WR and TE

Excited to talk about the 2027 two deeps next November. That's when things really take off.

The roster doesn't unless they get a good LT to compete with true frosh Greene / RS-Soph Hylkema and a stud pass rusher or two.
If they get Michael Clay at WR, they may be done there. I like Rashid Williams and Clay would push him for snaps because he's 6'2" 1/2 or 6'3" and well-rounded.
I'm not sure they need a TE unless they want another blocking TE a la Moore. The roster already has a bunch of TEs (DeGraaf, Eldridge, Charlie Crowell, Naone, Austin Simmons).
Why not see if they can bring back Dixon to start one last year? He'd pair well with Dylan Robinson and would give a little more time for the young DBs to develop.

After yesterday, and looking at this picture, the only 2-Deep I'm interested in for the next 1-2 months is my wife's asshole.
Is that Mrs. Fisch in the faux (I hope) leather pants and crazy platform shoes?
yes it is. DCB will start at d end and Russell Davis. Lane was meh this year. Greene will start somewhere along line. R Duncan will be in mix at corner.
You think DCB will start as a true frosh?
Lane isn't elite but he produced some and didn't have the benefit of an RS year so he's a true JR rather than a RS-Soph. If he's a 6 sack guy next season as a true Senior, I'd be happy with that.
Russell Davis is a good pass rusher but almost always hurt. Maybe he can be like Durfee this year and finally stay healthy.
Imagine UW breaking the bank and getting this guy for one year:

Anthony Smith Career Stats - NCAAF - ESPN

Need in the portal:
1 EDGE/DE
2 OT that they can also play as a G

3 CB - Exactly, just ask Thaddeus if he wants to come back…he probably might…UNC is terrible.

4 TE - Degraff looks more like a #2 TE, IMO. Eldridge got injured after 2 catches? Eldridge is not an answer, he looked like a weaker version of Degraff.
