But one talk with the winningest coach in college football the last eight seasons (92-12) changed those plans.

“You hear nothing but great things about the staff. You hear nothing but great things about Coach Petersen and how his players speak speaks highly of him, even people outside the program, the fans," Campbell said. "To be coached by one of the greatest coaches in college football – even considered by other coaches as one of the greatest coaches in college football – you don’t pass up the opportunity if you have the opportunity to be under him.
 
Sounds to me like DiAndre isn't edgy. Obviously Petersen can't connect with the edgy players though like Stringfellow.
 
It's funny Hudson and Campbell came right back after Petersen was hired. I think Kearse was the only who ended up leaving. It's nice that he thinks so highly of Petersen too. I'm sure there were players who liked Sark and thought he was a cool guy, but I don't remember any of them saying he's one of the best coaches in the country. These players aren't dumb.

I think this is the better quote from the article.

From it, you can obviously tell Campbell still wants to play football... just not under Sark. It could've been a playing time issue, not being happy with the offense or, what most likely happened, Sark trying to Suddenly Senior him so he could free up another scholarship for another 2019 recruit. Whatever the reason, Campbell wanted to play for a coach that wanted him. And with Petersen arriving on campus, he quickly changed his mind and decided to stay at UW.

There are a ton of differences between Sark and Petersen, but I think the most apparent between the two is exemplified in this situation: Sark was here for himself whereas Petersen is here for the players.

With Sark, there were plenty of examples where he made it about himself, like being the OC, launching CoachSark.com almost immediately after being hired, claiming there were trust issues with Price instead of owning up to his problem and that dude brah attitude. With Petersen, he turns the focus away from him and puts it on the players. And he makes sure the players focus on the other players, too. This spring, he forced players to mix it up, sit with others whom they didn't know much about and get to know the players on the team at a personal level. Look down at USC this spring and they're having dance contests.

It's amazing to see how different things are when you have an adult running the program.
