That's the thing I've been most amazed about thought all this. Other than Cal/Beavs/Texas, every team doesn't think Penix and this offense can continually go over the top of them consistently enough to beat them and they have all been wrong.

I'd drop 7/8 all game and force Penix and Grubb to check down charlie and run it to beat us the whole game. If nothing else your shorten game and possessions on UW which is not KD and his offensive id MO

If you are getting out run in the secondary by receivers that have more precise movement and speed AND know what the play design is, it won’t matter if you add one more guy except to give the offense more time to separate. Make a habit of it and the offense just adds more guys into the pattern as well.

The real issue is does the other team have DB’s that can run with our receivers? And can the defense put pressure on the QB… That’s the way to slow this offense down… my take is that the defense needs to be able to do both really well to stop Washington.

Of course every DC [as well as any serious observer] knows this, will be interesting to see how it shakes out as the season progresses.

Shitpost 2x, the other obvious way to shutdown our offense is to dominate and humiliate our defense with long punishing ball control drives that result in a touchdown, eat up the clock and give our guys on offense too much time to think about it… [doi, of course every coach wants to do that to destroy the other team.]

Is there anybody on our schedule good enough to do all that? pre playoffs I don’t think so…
