Ok, here you go. We had 2 guys here who had a fairly entertaining podcast but became unhealthily obsessed with recruiting. Insinuated that there was a racial element to Pete's recruiting because why would you ever offer a loser white kid like BBK who had no chance of being successful at the college level and be hesitant to offer a 5* all world phenom like Gee Scott Jr.
Once Pete's recruiting started picking up but we hadn't yet won a National Championship, one of them started pushing this narrative about Pete recruiting the wrong type of black. According to his "Fast Strategy Theory", a black from a low income area that is darker-skinned and the product of a one-parent household is more likely to care only about material things and will thus work harder on the football field as his only way of achieving material gain.
He argued that Pete was mostly recruiting mixed-race kids or kids of African background from 2-parent households and that they would be more likely to care about school and be fo used on their long-term future thus making them inferior college football players.
It sounds insane but that shit was all over the recruiting bored for like 2 years.
