Sark had the guts to fire his buddie Nick Holt to overhaul his defense, now it is time for you to do it to your offense. More importantly, when you hire a capable OC, stop meddling with it. Your time has passed and now you are worse than mediocre as an offensive/game day coach.

I am afraid you are right. It was easier for Sark in that even though Holt was his buddy, it was definitely not his defense system. But as everyone here correctly pointed out, it is Pete's system offensively, so yeah, we are fucked.

And before Sark fired Holt, no one thought he'd have the balls to fire his buddy. No one thought Pete would nudge Jimmy out the door and hire that up-and-coming WR coach as his OC, but then he did. It's funny how quickly narratives can disappear. Pete may never fix his obvious game day and offensive deficiencies. Or he may. No one fucking knows.
 
Pete needs to chew on a pile of Xanax before each game.

Guy looks like hes in the middle of an IRS audit an hour before game time.
 
Sark didn't just shitcan his buddy the DC. He also threw out his whole offensive system and, in one offseason, simplified it and adopted the HUNH spread that pretty much every team in CFB was running at that point. Early returns were good, with a blowout of Coach Pete in newly reopened Husky Stadium. Sankey set the single season rushing record and went all-conference, average scoring went way up. They still had the brakes beaten off of them three times, because that's the Sark/Wilcox script, but that team won nine games instead of seven.

Firing his buddy and revamping the D ended up having no impact in the win/loss column. Shitcanning his own offensive system and replacing it with something completely different was good for two extra wins.

It's so sad that I'm sitting here thinking, "I wish Pete had a little Sark in him." Sark was lazy and drunk and undisciplined, but he wasn't stubborn. At least he had that.
