Going from what I saw growing up which would start in the 1980s I would go with:

C[/b] Christian Welp
F[/b] Detlef Schrempf
F[/b] Brandon Roy
G[/b] Isaiah Thomas
G[/b] Nate Robinson

Interestingly enough, I think that's what I would say also.

Isaiah Stewart would have probably made the list had he stayed another couple of years

I didn't consider any of the very talented one and done players to no fault of their own but they just weren't around long enough. Still have much respect for their collective talent level and appreciate that they played for the UW. Once a Dawg always a Dawg...bow wow wow yippie yo yippie ya!!

I’d probably move Nate off the Top 5 (if building a semi legit team) as you need a bigger 2nd guard

That's a fair point, so whom would replace him with?

Probably Eldridge Recasner

Eldridge got very upset about my article where I interviewed him about Hurricane Katrina. It can now be found under the byline of one Chris Fetters

I’m a big proponent of acting ethically and with integrity ... intentionally stealing someone else’s work and calling it one’s own is about as low as you can get for me

Both Nate and Isaiah played much bigger than their physical size plus they both had heart. Not to mention that Nate was a freak of an athlete and Isaiah was an above average athlete as well. That backcourt would give other teams fits on both ends on the court.

Throw in Matisse as the 6th man defensive stopper and you got yourself a sqwuaaaaaad

I’m not disagreeing with you in that they were both special players

But just as athletic ability is a prerequisite, so is size and you effectively have 2 sub 6 foot guards. There are tons of challenges there.

Go back and watch the 1 seeded team play Louisville that was extremely long all over the see the inherent problems that size causes when you don’t have it

Might even win a game in dance with Hopkins at helm

Jon Brockman?

Went to High School with Jon. Fucking rad dude. Played in WESCO where all his competition was 6 foot to 6 foot 2 white dudes. Throw the ball in the post and dunk almost every play. I’m surprised how well it translated to college.
