Fisch is saving his red zone plays for the rematch with Rutgers.
 
It's not as bad as the fake FG or the blitz when a sack doesn't do much for you, but I was saying outloud when we got 1st and goal from the 2 for the first time to not give it to Jonah - every single person in the stadium knew it was coming and the defense jumped on it immediately, both times. That was the time to do something unexpected.
 
Fisch's play-calling is questionable at best. He cost the team early with his bizarre sideline behavior, and on the field with stupid-ass calls like the fake field goal debacle.
It's clear he's using this experience as a stepping stone stop to his next big thing — which, at this rate, may never come and may keep UW mired in second-tier land in the B1G.
Both lines aren't anywhere close to competing against the best. Watching Oregon against Penn State made me ill because UW isn't in the same league with either of those programs. UW's athletes look like high schoolers next to them.
I know we're supposed to be patient and accept the fact that we don't know the damage Deboner did to the program, and it's gonna take years to get back to the top.
I know we're supposed to pretend everything is rosy.

A lot of people are acting like Ohio State isn't a juggernaut or #1 team.
I thought the DAWGS had a chance at home, and came away impressed with the Ohio State defense. That is a ridiculously good unit that held Texas to 7, one more point than UW.

Also, holy fuck, they fired him after a 9-4 season. MARYLAND! He was 75-50 and they're 67-97 since.

Go on a run to Oregon. Maybe lose a game.
Sloppy game in the rain and homefield has UW coming out on top.
Playoff or NY6 bowl.
But a loss here or there and it's Holiday Bowl Brotha.
 
I have a huge problem with people saying the talent gap was untenable. QB is exactly what people have wanted and feared from other teams. 2 NFL DBs. 1.5 NFL LBs. Did NOT get blown off the ball on the lines even if you say they lost the LOS. NFL WR. A second dawg freshman WR. The best RB since MMFG. Talent at tight end blocking and catching. The roster should be able to compete as I see it. Jedd can't score in the red zone and that accounts for 81% of the problems. If UW was up 20-17 and OSU scores late to win I don't think we have a lot of these talent discussions
 
The team is actually young and full of "high school players" in comparison to Ohio State right now, and those kids came out and competed and didn't shit their pants. Otherwise that was a 45-3 type of game.
Fisch's game plan was absolutely embarrassing though.

I think we were right in that UW could compete.
I think we were wrong in that Ohio State's defense is really, really, really good.
