Sounds like trust issues. Derek had a good game plan but the investors simply don't trust him.

Derek just needs more time to get his own investors in here.

now that I have DJ's word that this isn't a money grab, I've committed to the 2014 investor minion class.

DJ promised me alot of playing time, since he's having to run alot of the current investors to save his job.

Relatively speaking, people have donated or invested a fair chunk of change into this website, and there are really no means to monitor what I'm doing with the money other than people's trust in me. Behind the scenes, Damone and I have a similar vision for this website, and that has been steadfast. But when he makes a public wisecrack that involves me getting paid when I'm not, then it could obviously raise questions in people's minds about what is happening with their money, especially when the site was basically malfunctioning on Thursday and Friday and I had no answers but to wait for Vanilla. Nothing more and nothing less.
