It's odd to me when coaches actually say this. It means it's either an excuse and the player isn't as hurt as they want you to believe or the coach is irresponsible and letting a kid play who shouldn't be. I think this is an excuse.

It's going around I guess. Pretty amazing, I heard a guy earlier this year lost a leg and then was back in the game four plays letter and played the next two weeks.
