Cute shtick but it was a 10 point game when the 4th quarter started. It was a decent effort by everyone besides Browning, John Ross XVIII, and Petersen/Smith playcalling
Race got all the pictures he needs. 7-0 on Bama
Everyone here would have taken that season no questions asked

He was a good coach. That was the best three years run since the early 90s. They could never beat the great teams though. He stuck too hard with the OKG shit, and that just doesn't work if you want to run with THE Ohio State, Clemson, and the SEC cheaters. I'm not going to bash the guy too hard, but 2019 was awful, and that's on him. Even 2018 was the least fun Rose Bowl I can remember (the first one I remember was the '91 game). It wasn't even close. Rapp star was too big for the team and I knew OSU would kick our ass. It was a good but not great, top 15 team that ran out of gas. I think that's why everyone on HH is frustrated with him.

If we win either the Fiesta or Rose, Pete is an HH and Husky legend
Right now, he is a hell of a coach that got burnt out and couldnt get the signature win we have all been craving. The Rose Bowl lack of excitement stuff, combined with 2019 and the Eason flop, lost a lot of the good will
It was still a hell of a run, especially 2016.

The Petersen years were fun and frustrating at the same time. My best memories are mostly 2 games at Utah and the pac 12 championship games vs Utah. Those were peak husky under Peterson. Low point raises how 2019 ended was ASU 2017. Jfc what happened there.

Disagree. Not celebrating it. But there isnt any shame in losing to Bama in Atlanta and finishing 4. Its a part of my argument 2016 was an unbelievable success to everyone besides you and Baseman
If it was a game like MSU vs Bama in the playoff Id be more with you Damone.
But UW deserved to be there and finish 4th.

Utah championship game was awesome. Only people there were the UW and Utah fans that really give a shit. Groups of kids ripping on UW and I was wasted and thought they were Utah fans so I started saying shit back. Hammered ass schlubby chick walks up to me wanting to murder me and yells at me that they were just displaced from N California fires weeks prior and were at the game as a charity thing.
She then goes and tells on me to stadium staff who come over and make me move back back up to my paid for seats, which were 2-3 rows above where I sat in an entirely empty part of the stadium.

Fans remember the last RB win…they don’t remember playing teams close and losing. I didn’t say there was shame in playing Alabama close-ish for a while. But it did expose UW and the Pac 12 as not being ready to be on that stage.

A lot of fuckos expect a coach who can do it all. Deboer is a breath of fresh air because his offense is fun, innovative - the kids are going nuts on the sideline! Contrast that with the irascible and cantankerous Chris Petersen. Some might even say the difference is night and day!
Maybe, but doing it all is hard. For all the fun Deboer is, he's also presiding over hands down the worst secondary we've had since Nick Holt was fired. And that's fine if he can Lincoln Riley his way to 10+ wins. Or maybe Penix gets hurt, as is tradition, and Huard is yet another in a string of failed home grown QBs. Who knows, it's fucking September and we've been let down way worse than this in the past (everyone except for fudgie remembers).
Whatever, right now I'll doog it up and pretend I'm 100% certain that our new, just-pudgy-enough Dutch coach is leagues better than the old stick in the mud we used to have.

What I’m trying to reconcile is this:
“DeBoer gets it, he’s fun, breath of fresh air, innovative, amazing coach, a real winner, Grubbs play calling is masterful, Peterson was a stiff no fun hack, DeBoer even looks like a coach..etc.”
“If Penix goes down to injury this week we are screwed and maybe only win 2 or 3 more games”.
If quote number 1 is true, quote number 2 shouldn’t be true.

Why is this hard to understand? The qb’s inherited on the roster are currently not very good. Penix without DeBoer struggled last year and was not good.
Together they seem to have a good thing and as long as it keeps going they are one of a few teams in the conference that can realistically make it to the championship game.

Dylan Morris is well established as not good. Some might even say terrible. But Huard? Jury's out.
Penix already looks several levels above what he was at Indiana. Meanwhile Haener isn't the same Heisman candidate he was last year. Seems clear that coaching matters and all indicators point to Deboer knowing how to squeeze performances out of his QBs. Seems a little premature to be laying out the excuses for Deboer should Penix go down.

If it all hinges on 1 players, there are other issues. If quote #1 is true, it shouldn’t all hinge on 1 player. Why is that so hard to understand? There is a 5 star national recruit at QB. If he’s not been developed into a competent backup, that’s a coaching issue.
And for all we know he has been developed and if Penix goes down we are fine. This has more to do with what is being said here than what could be the reality.

If Dabo loses a pre-happy ending Deshaun Watson does he win the NC? Etc. A lot always rides on one player no matter the coach.
As far as coaching, given the same roster what would Jimmy Lake have done Saturday? He would have lost 35-7.
Deboner and Penix are both really good.
