The article wasn't a list of things that make him great. It was simply about one refreshing trait that Pete has.

He let the clock run down on fourth down when Cal had the ball around midfield. Dykes took a timeout with 2 seconds left for a free play...then called some bullshit lateral play instead of a Hail Mary.

It obviously didn't matter in this case. If you're going to brag about Peterman's attention to detail, you should acknowledge the glaring exceptions to his attention to detail.

Pete was pissed off up 36 points because of a failure in player execution.

It's fair to point out a failure in coaching execution too.

He's still our guy AND he can still improve by paying more attention to game management details.

UW had a 2 touchdown lead and was getting the ball back after the half. why call timeout and risk cal going for it and scoring before the half? It was only 4th and 3 around midfield or so

I enjoyed the article especially the "at this point I don't know how we got petersen and I don't much care" part.

Suggestion: you should include gifs in your articles (created by our grundlegifskin of course) - I think visual examples would create traffic for curious outsiders go ogling "huskies" or "chris petersen" etc, etc.

Just a millenial point of view. Please don't mute me.

Maybe this makes it easier to understand... if UW calls timeout with say 12 seconds to go, Cal would have been forced to punt because they don't want to turnover the ball at midfield and give UW a chance to throw a hail mary. By letting Cal wind the clock down to 2 seconds, Cal was free to throw a hail mary with no repercussions.

Short version... UW should have called a timeout because that was a detail to pay attention to.

You call timeout with 7 seconds left to force them to punt. They didn't want Browning throwing to Ross again before the half.
