Read a biography of Charlie Parker in high school, and learned that he supposedly got high on Nutmeg (among other things)

Both moms were gone and of course I poured all the nutmeg into orange juice and guzzled it - tasted awful and no buzz

Sadly it usually gets rolled into either alternative or "hard rock/metal" so pick one of those. Cuntry is a strong 2nd. The Highwaymen were the punk rock of their day. I grew up with outlaw cuntry and honky tonk and still have a strong love for it.

Sad indeed. I guess it fits more into alternative than hard rock/metal though.

Old country would probably be my #2 here. I think our country bracket will get very heated and get a lot of interest.
