My main concern is whether the Pac12 can survive with the ever increasing percentage of West-Coast kids, predominantly from Southern California leaving to go to other conferences. Bad LA schools means kids won’t go there, but that doesn’t mean the just choose to go to the other Pac12 schools. For the elite recruits it means more and more choosing to leave to other conferences, waters down the conference quality of product which ultimately makes even the top Pac12 teams like us less desirable down the road. This has already been happening for years now, but the decline of LA schools has and will continue to speed this up exponentially. Yes, it will benefit UW in our own recruiting specifically in the short term with the LA schools dicking around in their own incompetence, but is there a longer lasting impact to the conference that would inherently hurt us in the future? What’s going on at SC has so many implications for UW over the next 5-10 years
IF SC continues to fuck shit up badly (and there is no indication that they won’t continue to) it only furthers help to strengthen UW’s recruiting position out West
