Petros did a 20 minute podcast with Jon Wilner about the state of football in LA.

First part was about Chip (in essence LIPO) rest was about USC and Clay Helton

Essentially said SC/Ohio State/Alabama/Georgia recruit a level above everyone else that last 10-15 years, and only one hasn't competed for NC's during that time b/c they can't knock teams off the ball on OL/DL and want to run a conference USA spread offense (I love you Clay stay forever).

Also calls out Pat Haden for hiring Kiffin and protecting him like his kid, then the Sark fiasco, and finally choosing Helton over Ed O because he could control him.

I am all for putting a statue of Haden in front of Husky Stadium, but the more I think of it, how does "Welcome to Pat Haden field at Husky Stadium" sound.

It's a great listen if you want to hear what is/has been going on behind the curtain down in the land of Troy.

He's a OG trojan half brain for sure. Remember he called for Sark's firing from UW at halftime of the 2013 AC (when the media still wouldn't dream of putting any heat on) and was fucking mortified when USC hired him a week later.

He seemed like such a goon when he first started broadcasting, but he's one of my favorite radio guys now. Flag away, but I like hearing his weekly segment with Softy. He gives a pretty honest opinion on UW and the conference.

He's always been good IMO. His persona is a little off putting at first but dude's always known his stuff and been far more honest than anyone else in dreck12 media circles.
 
Yeah he is top-tier when it to comes to knowing his stuff. His problem is that he sounds like the aliens from the movie Mars Attacks!

My fave Madden rant was when he was in the booth talking about a player taking aspirin for some ache or injury, and wondering what happens when you hurt in more than one place in your body. Where does the aspirin know where to go? And Summerall gently tells him, "Well John, that's why you take two."
