Pete isn't who we thought he was

Well as someone who also was a fraud I'll tell you.

1st of all Dan Mother Fuckin' Hawkins...he went to the buffs and started that downward rocky mountain turdshow on ice spiral.

Boise was great under him. 53-11...then...as my pappy used to always say...when the ice melts...the shit floats, and boy did it float to the surface...

You had Bryan Harsin as the OC as Bosie who left to go be a Mack Brown fluffer down in Texas and he bailed as soon as possible to get out of there as that ship started to sink...went to Arkansas State where he did fuck all nothing, and then Back to Boise after the hiring of Peteypoo he was hero and then Utah State kicked their head in while Peteypoo struggled against them...yet somehow beat Utah State.

So how did this fraud show happen?...Well Boise State plays in a crappy conference they usually schedule a big OOC game 1st of the year so they have all camp to prepare...they win that and ride the momentum thinking they are great....but get any of those coaches out of Boise and it's disasterville.

Look at Deep Throat Choate...he leaves Boise goes to the Coogs runs around trying to El Paso then to Muchamp at Florida for that crap hole and runs back to the teat of Peteypoo after nothing but failures...

The fact that he isn't some coaching genius should be obvious from all the patterns coming out of the Boisehole.

Trust me I know failure...and I am here to haunt us all as a reminder that because a coach may seem great from far away...the reality is once he gets close he may stink like shit.

The problem is two fold.

1. We got Petersen after his prime. Not every good coach sustains their success.

2. He's a fucking idiot who is Kellen Moore obsessed. Everything on offense is about being cute and clever.

This.

The three main red flags I saw with Pete were this:

1) him saying he doesn't run "an offense" he only runs "plays."

If that's not subtle horse shit coach speak for "I view being cute as the most important element of offense" I don't know what is.

2) hiring Babushka.

Literally everyone else on his staff has a great track record. Our D-staff is a fucking all-star team. Pease, Strausser and Bonerphó have all had success.

Boosh was hired as a QB coach (stupid) with no track record and promoted to OC when Tedford fell through (what I heard; I could be wrong, of course). Putting the least experienced coach in charge of the most important position AND the head coach's area of expertise is a straight Sark move.

It basically keeps the HC as an "offense" coach and puts the HC in a mentor role as opposed to a CEO role.

3) The Kellen Moore references.

Basically showing that Pete is stuck thinking that the way to win is let everyone else take care of other Shit and then design a crazy complex offense for a cerebral QB.

He made Jeff look awful and I thought, "Jeff sucks"; he made Cyler look awful and I thought, "Cyler sucks", but when he made Black Power look like shit it gave me pause.

Browning "runs the plays" better than those guys, but he physically is not talented enough to play as a freshman. The fact that Pete doesn't see that (shout out to Kim G, "he looks like a HS kid") shows you he's not evaluating his QB on that dimension.

Browning has physical talent that says, "start me as a RS-Soph at the earliest". But we are trying our best to ruin him by abusing what's good about him and not letting him develop what's not.

What a nightmare.

The fact that we can all see it and he can't shows he probably sucks.

Unless he really self-evals we are fucked.

He sucks. If someone wants to believe otherwise that's fine, but we know Pete sucks. We do. The last rats on the ship will get excited over a 4-0 start in 2017, but we know he's not leading us to glory.

Great point about being in your prime. Some coaches are always great....Saban has been good everywhere, as has Meyer, same with Harbaugh...but look at Jimmy Johnson, great with Miami, great with the Cowboys, then tapered off (kind of lost "it") with the Dolphins. The second incarnation of Joe Gibbs sucked balls, but that guy was a bad ass the first go round. Etc, etc.

There are CEO's out there that completely kick ass and turn companies around, but 10 years later completely step all over their dick. Just cause you are great once, doesn't mean you will be great forever. CP had "it" for years....but whatever it was is gone like a fart in the wind.
