TL;DR I know, but the amount of Sark cocksucking that still exists is amazing to me.
You're wrong
Coach Pete is the second most significant hire. Coach Sark was the most important.

You're joking right?
Unless you mean Sark being hired by USC, then I can maybe agree with you (because that led directly to Pete being hired here).

Correction
Woodward’s best hire to date was Steve Sarkisian. The coach brought energy and recruited his ass off. That energy and the new tv contract allowed us to get the impossible done- rebuild Husky Stadium.
However…
Most of us in Dawgpound world think the best hire from Woodward will eventually become the Chris Petersen hire.

Thank you
Nice to see someone with his brain on. Coach Pete had done nothing yet. I love him. I believe in him. I trust him. I can’t wait to see how great he can make the Huskies. But Sark was PRECISELY what the Huskies needed at the time of his hire.

I was with you all the way up until the "needed" part.
Maybe I’m not understanding what you mean. What did Sarkisian bring to the team and program that they couldn’t have gotten anywhere else?

Not a lot of coaches weren't lining up for the Washington job
The program and stadium were crumbling away to nothing. Washington was a dead stick and barely competitve with MWC programs. Not many coaches with experience was going to line up for an 0-12 program. We had no choice but to look for young, energetic coaches that could put that energy back into the program and apply it to wins. I agree with MichaelMartin, I can’t think of another coordinator during that time that could have succeeded as fast and as hard as Sarkisian.
I’ve called Sarkisian out a time or two since his departure. I’m convinced that USC took a huge reach in hiring Sarkisian. He’s got a lot to learn about the profession and until he develops trust in one of his offensive assistants to coordinate the offense, he’ll continue to be a glorified offensive coordinator and still conducting on the job training. That’s what Haden got and I’m cool about it.

6, 7, 7, 7, 8...
And 4-5, 5-4, 5-4, 5-4, 5-4.
Total wins (which include 3 wins against FCS teams) and conference wins in 5 years. I wouldn’t call that succeeding “fast and hard”.
Sark wasn’t (and isn’t) anything special. The only thing special he did was accept the UW job (and then mediocre his way into the USC gig – thanks again Pat!). He took us out of Ty’s gutter, which is commendable but nowhere near getting credit for being UW’s most significant hire.

except that's not exactly what crazi said

Except that's just about exactly what he said...
He couldn’t “think of a coordinator who could have succeeded as fast and as hard as Sarkisian”.
My point is/was, Sark didn’t succeed fast or hard. Then I went on to talk about how Sark isn’t anything special and is actually pretty mediocre (these are my thoughts, not Crazi’s). Does that help?
And again, thanks Pat!
