Parents, students 'disappointed' and 'shocked' over proposed Seattle Public Schools closures

Who knew that closing down schools over a virus that didn't pose any more threat to children than the flu and pushing any and every idiotic woke idea such as letting males use the female restroom and locker room would have consequences?

More to the point, SPD has a history of making school closure decisions based upon short term considerations. Those haven't panned out very well.

For some reason, the pension debt is on the Seattle School District books.

Very good!
Seattle is in Washington. You're right. And the Seattle District is a creation of the State of Washington.
Teachers teach in Washington, not always in one district—my father taught in more than one district. The system is a state system.
"Fat" pension.

The Seattle School system is not the state of Washington. It is a separate legal entity. I'd agree that it is largely controlled by the State and the Feds. However, the employer is not the state of Washington. The pension funding reduces money available to the school district.

All districts are a creation of the State of Washington. The fact the State tries to separately account for each "subsidiary" is unremarkable.
And the fact my father performed his end of the bargain is indisputable. MAGA has certainly been a beneficiary of his "fat" pension.

Told you that @HHusky is dumber than Buck. Gal doesn’t even know where Daddy’s fat pension is coming from, as long as H can get his sausage fingers on it soon.

Gasbag tried to help Chrissy, but to no avail.
What part of "Washington Teachers' Retirement System" was too confusing?

Also like Buck, he claims victory after getting smoked by facts.
Stick to calling posters lady names, Mee-rna.
It’s just funny that a life success such as yourself is looking forward to a parent’s pension fund after they croak. I have no clue what my mom has when she dies. Don’t need it, so it’s set up so my kids can have it.

You are under the impression I receive his pension at his death?
Yeah, you're really "smoking me with facts", Irina.
