Interesting. My wife and I have attended two performance driving schools in Spartanburg, and stayed in Charleston. Downtown is right on the Clemson campus.

We loved the area, food and stiff beers. We were told (allegedly) that the other USC campus was worth a visit if we had time.

I used to hoop at Clemson's student center, I love Clemsons campus, probably my favorite southern campus I've been on besides Ole Miss. I like the whole GSP area (Greenville-Spartanburg). Haven't spent much time in Columbia but was never impressed.
