Utah is a public university, not a Mormon school such as BYU...... unless you consider that the state of Utah is totally under LDS control politically, socially, and economically which of course it is. As for Dennis Erickson versus the Mormons, SLC has one of the sleaziest (and busiest) red light districts you'll find anywhere just over a block from the Mormon Temple. The traditional story is that when the Elders can't get enough at home from their three pregnant teenaged wives, they....... well, like to keep their alternatives close-by. Actually, I like to think the LDS have always wanted to keep an eye on their alcohol impaired.
