Orgeron on the hot seat?

If this is true, then why did Pete allow him to be demoted in order to keep Lake?

That decision gets even more bizarre in hindsight. I will say, 2019 defense improved over the course of season. Offense did not.

It was Kwait who proposed it to Pete.

It was Kwiatkowski, late last fall, who broached the idea with Petersen. The initial conversation, as they recall, went something like this:

Kwiatkowski: “We’re going to lose Jimmy, aren’t we?”

Petersen: “Yeah, I know that. It’s time.”

Kwiatkowski: “Unless he calls the defense, and I’m fine with that.”

Soon after, Petersen pitched the idea to Lake.

“It definitely was a surprise,” Lake said.[/b]

I don't buy it. I rarely read that shit because I believe they feed you all the propaganda they want you to believe. It's all manipulated bullshit.

I don't know, isn't the answer to this pretty abvious?

In 5 years, when we discuss coaching vs Jimmie's and Joe's, the phrase "Fucking Ed Orgeron even won a NC" will replace "Fucking Larry Coker won a NC"

Actually, it’s a good point. I myself never expected coach Ed to run the LSU machines for very long. He’s not that kind of guy. The guys who can do it for a while tend to me a little smarter than coach O. He could be a D line coach somewhere forever. HC? Nah.

As for Coker, that became a tag line for a reason I’m afraid.

So keeping Jimmy Lake was more important than keeping the defense in the hands of the best defensive mind in these United States of America? (If we're to believe that premise)

Kwiatkowski stayed up in the box. My contention is that less changed than people are making out. Lake "called the defense," but I'm betting that's a formality, largely based off of down/distance/personnel/tendencies. "The greatest defensive mind in college football" was still up in the booth telling him what was happening, and they got to keep their "ace recruiter" and future head coach. I don't know, seems like abundance to me.

No Burrow and they hired Scott Linehan to replace Joe Brady. Good luck with that one.

They also allowed 623 passing yards. They probably aren’t very good this year.
