Oregon would have had much better chance to win national championship under new CFP rules

Some real sober stuff here. If you want I'll get some AA chip things for how many days you can go with reasonable poasts. Gabriel certainly wasn't Mariota or Nix but it wasn't like the teams winning games the playoffs had those QBs. Lan Man's defense still being a dumpster fire while being constantly called a genius is funny. My biggest pro about Lanning is that he's hired skilled OCs and let them do their thing and it's saved his possibly-tattooed ass.
He’s hired 2 really offensive coordinators but at the same time, is keeping Tosh.

I actually think keeping Tosh helps him. Lanning knows fans are stupid and will always want the coordinators fired before they want the head coach fired.
It's a good point. The Tosh recruiting stuff is bullshit now with NIL. I can't imagine he's a huge asset there. Especially when he also has to be a coordinator.

If Dan is a defensive genius Kirby Smart, it shouldn’t matter that Dullard McOverbite is his DC.

This is the year for the ducks, is the college football version of the walls are closing in for Donald Trump

Obviously he's not and never ever should have had that comp just because he had a title at ugga when they had a great D, which is every year because Smrt.

I mean, yeah, there are shitty draws. But if you can't beat who is in front of you one day, it stands to reason you're not going to beat them one or two games into the playoffs. You have to run into them eventually, and nobody else was going to beat the Bucks for the Ducks. Buck was the best team at year-end, regardless of what happened against Michigan. I'm not sure Oregon would have beaten Penn State twice if it had come down to that. Gabriel just was not impressive to me and was easy to defend. Oregon would have been a different team with a better guy under center. But that's who they went with.
Gabriel wasn’t the problem. Oregon played 3 playoff teams (one of those twice) and gave up 41, 37, 31, and 34. And somehow went 3-1 in those games because Gabriel and the offense were able to outscore them. The glaring issue in the program is still on the other side of the ball, and at this point it’s all on Dan for not fixing it.
100%

Gabriel certainly wasn't Mariota or Nix, but I think actually much more helped them get to where they got rather than held them back. He went three whole rounds ahead of the QB who won it all as a 26 year old midget. He was good, especially for college, and the 2024 season. Never really thought of it, but if Oklahoma doesn't cut Gabriel loose like idiots, does Shough transfer back to Eugene?
Also, the whole Lanning is a genius narrative while being a defensive coach whose D hasn't ever shown a pulse at all against any decent offense ever is popcorn material. Needs more Tim.

Oregon would have better chance at winning the National Title if they somehow came up with an even better trophy for Oregon to choke around with.

In REAL college football they get plunger raped by Ohio St in the Rose Bowl.

Oh wait
There's truth to this.
Rose bowls can't give you Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois layups anymore.

Watching the BIG championship closely as I did. The Penn State OC has Oregon on the ropes and gassed running the ball during their comeback and stupidly pissed the game away trying to be an offensive guru aka Sark.
I believe 90% the psu OC gave away a win during their comeback second half. If that happens the ducks are seeded differently and probably don’t face Ohio State until the final four.

Gabriel is fucking terrible. It's an all time bad pick by the Browns.

You don’t think Dante Moore’s gonna make you fondle a D. Gabriel photo in your bed this season?

Gabriel is terrible might be your worst take of all-time, DTD. Even calling him a JAG at the college level is idiotic. Especially in the 2024 season.

The Browns coaches didn’t seemed thrilled about the Sanders pick but I believe they are thinking differently at this point. Dillion making a practice squad would be a mIracle. The zeros here shitting on him constantly considering his record is stupid. You dipshits ducks that live on this site and don’t donate are pathetically cheap.

Trust me, I cannot cum to Dillon Gabriel.

Oregon fans who shit on Gabriel are going to look pretty dumb when the offense looks like rudderless hot garbage at Penn state in late September.

you guys are forgetting how many downs he gave up (1) getting passes smacked down at the LOS by anybody over 6ft tall and (2) targeting 1 receiver and virtually ignoring the most physically gifted receiver on his roster. #2 is on the staff for allowing it.

I hadn’t seen him play for Oklahoma but had heard about him alot. Watching him play for the Ducks, I was decidedly unimpressed. He’s not in Nix’s zip code.

No one is making the argument he was close to nix. Gabriel was very limited physically, but his experience and iq almost always led to him making the right read with minimal mistakes. Extremely high floor/mid ceiling guy. Oregon is going to miss his experience a lot at times this year as they break in a younger qb.
