So why does this matter for UW?

BECAUSE HE IS A GREAT RECRUITER AND WILL BE RECRUITING SAV'ELL SMALLS.

Meanwhile, as currently constructed, we will have Gregory and Kwiatkowski recruiting Smalls for us vs. Keith Heyward and Donte Williams, and that is just Oregon.

But including Kwiatkowski in this is FS because he is strong enough as a DC that regardless of his (in)ability to recruit we aren’t trading him in for AT LEAST 81% of the DCs we will be recruiting against.

Gregory is a completely different point ...

Hopefully we can de-emphasize Gregory and Kane Iaone can go big early

My point is that you can be critical of Kwat as a recruiter all you want and if you want to lump him into the recruiting category against other schools that’s great ...

But Kwat ain’t going anywhere ...

And those schools you are suggesting we are in deep against it from a recruiting standpoint would likely bend over and kiss Kwat’s feet to be their DC

I'm not too high on Smalls. I don't think a true force on the D should have the word "Small" in his name. It just doesn't work...... Sav'ell Biggs on the other hand

Agree 100%. This is also assuming that Cristobal is still the HC in 2 years....I have my doubts..USC (LA) is going to be the school that UW has to fight Small for..funny..bc Pete just hired a guy who is 1) from LA 2)Played under Pete Carroll at USC and 3) GET'S IT.

I'm actually quite confident that Smalls will be a DWAG.

Nebraska fans seem to be universally happy to be rid of the guy as a coach as well. Great recruiting + shitty coaching = UCLA.

I'm pretty happy with the Harris hire. Brotha from LA who has had success with DBs he's coached.

I mean, who knows. He was there for just one year and the entire team was a dumpster fire.

Recruiting is a huge portion of the value proposition of a position coach. Donte was getting 4* kids from Cali to verbal to Arizona.

Let's make a few things clear since you're clearly slower than a molasses enema...

1. NO ONE IS SAYING KWAT SHOULD LEAVE. We can think he's a good DC and still think he's a bad recruiter. Those are not two mutually exclusive opinions.

2. Saying we shouldn't expect better recruiting because USC has natural advantages is stupid and defeatist. I guess I might as well stop breathing because Kenyans have more efficient lungs than me.

3. NO ONE IS SAYING KWAT SHOULD LEAVE. I'm assuming you didn't get it the first time. Kwat is here to stay, which is exactly why we need an OLB coach to cover for this recruiting deficiencies.

4. Personally I don't hate white people like Dennis does, I hate hicks and dweebs who embrace being losers and refuse to change.

5. I DON'T THINK KWAT SHOULD LEAVE. I do however think he's a boring redneck who should stop acting like he's in Pullman because it IS hurting our recruiting.

6. Bob Gregory is a good ILB coach, a mediocre ST coach, and a fucking dweeb who couldn't recruit @Swaye to a drug-fueled sex cruise. He should go back to Boise where he can coach all the try-hard white guys his heart desires.
