One thing that stood out

The defense still hits like a truck

The state of Utah small wideouts got smashed again

Lots of drops waiting to get smashed

By year end these pups will be full grown wild DAWGS

The whole team went alpha on the road in a trap REVENGE game

Look like they are having fun

Not the drab dreary team of the last two years

I like this team

I liked the long drive in the third qtr where we ran the ball at will, stuck the dagger in and twisted the blade. With gusto. That was the DAWG football we want to see. Makes me think Pete has been reading this board.

Dawgs had the mental edge all game, throw in a dash of killer instinct, very nice to see.

The confidence boost of Eason at QB is remarkable too, a much more likable team where we can expect improvement every week.

Honestly, if we?’d covered the TE and avoided a couple PIs, that game could have been a near shutout.

This D is still what many thought preseason: Deep, talented, prone to youthy mistakes, but pretty damn good on balance.

I wouldn’t say I like them yet. They are much improved on offense. Defense needs to get up to speed and ILB is a problem.

Makes me think Pete ran out of trick plays

I also see a big, fast and hard hitting team. There is just one position lacking on defense but nobody is going to like facing our d backfield and line by the latter third of the season, or right now for that matter.

Same goes for the offense. Watching Fuller and Baccellia getting knocked or tossed backward over and over when they're so close to making a big play with their speed is frustrating, but the rest of the offense is pretty damn physical.

I still think UW is good, with a chance to get and be great down the stretch.

Molden and Myles are every bit as talented as their predecessors, and they play mean. McDuffie is already starter quality. I still expect Gordon and Taylor to catch up. The DL has some serious dudes, and that's with Levi not yet finding his groove. Even Wellington shows flashes of violence and athleticism, though his reads and instincts are pretty poor. Kyler Manu is slow in all facets of the game and is a really odd fit in an otherwise uber-athletic defense, but whatever. The D is definitely trending up, I just hope it happens quick enough to avoid blowing another conference game.

Hopefully USC keeps chucking the ball around out of 5 WR sets and the ILBS don’t have to play this weekend

I think Calvert could have had the same impact as a guy like Merlin Robertson at ASU as freshman. He looked really instinctual in practice and seemed to be climbing the depth chart before the injury. That was definitely a blow to competition and depth at that position. That said, relying on a true freshman to shore up your LB corps in year six is FS.

When people call a player instinctual makes me laff. What the fuck do you even mean, explain motherfucker? Lmfao

Huh? It's a pretty simple concept, especially for linebackers.

How quickly can you diagnose a play? Are you consistently filling the right gap? Can you read the QB and clog the right passing lane? Are you taking proper angles when running down the ball carrier? Then congrats, you're an instinctual player.

Yeah but it seems people hide behind it because they don’t what they’re talking about.

I actually enjoyed watching the game yesterday, despite all my bitching about the stupid fake field goal which was really fucking stupid.
