Yeah, since we can’t roll back the clock to the old system this is the most realistic way to salvage things.

But for me the issue now isn’t so much the playoffs, it’s everything before that. I know all of you liked to tease @Sandra6 about Rutgers/Maryland, but she/he/they were right. Those two, and several other teams, don’t belong in the B1G for football.

The best way to breathe life into the CFB is taking a page from @PurpleJ’s soccer playbook and do relegation - “Just win baby” on steroids. (I wish we could do promotion too, but that’s not feasible.) It’s either this, or it will be decided in the next round of realignment. Either way, there’s going to be a culling of the herd.

But like @YellowSnow, I now desperately miss the old bowl system. Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone.

Give me the P5 Champions(now is 4) and the next 4 best teams. If a G5 like Cincinnati year before last is in there(and got ass blasted by Bama) so be it. 8 is enough. BIG 12 Champ, B1G Champ, ACC Champ and SEC Champ and next best 4..

Point is, this “voting” like old days on who’s the best two to play is fun. It’s entertaining. It crowns…someone. But is not accurate in any fucking way. That’s IF we’re trying to say who’s the NC. If we aren’t, let’s not calm them the NC. Pretty Fukn simple. Call em…the choice of whoever. But not the NC.
