I don’t see Utah beating out Oklahoma playing a team ranked 8 or 9 in a conference championship

In 16 there was wazzu Colorado, Utah usc and uw.
This year is a pile of shit for a resume builder. Utah May be every bit as good as Oklahoma or Georgia but their resume will be dog shit by the end of the year. Should they beat Oregon the ducks likely fall into the 16-18 range and that would be their only significant win. Conference let them down this year.

Also, the Big 12 is arguably a bigger pile of shit. Look at Oklahoma's last 5 games. Loss at K.State, 1 point victory at home v Iowa St, 3 point victory on the road at Baylor, 4 point victory at home v TCU and last, a good win at OSU by 18.
Utah has been blowing teams out.
If Utah wins ugly or flukey and Oklahoma smashes Baylor, Oklahoma will probably get the nod. And if we? win ugly or flukey, we? don't deserve a shot and don't belong there.
If we smash the fuck out of the Ducks, I'd like to see what these Utes really can do.
Pac-12 Championship was the goal all along anyway. I think I can speak for all Utah fans in that we never expected this team to be in the CFP but they are showing better than expected.
Beat the Ducks, that's all that matters.
Here's the deal. Stanford has three Pac 12 titles and Oregon and Washington have 2 each. The South has one - USC

Texas would have never joined. When Larry Scott explained the Pac-12 Network to them, they laughed at him and pretty much killed any chance that they'd leave the Big 12

Agreed. Texas doesn't see themselves that way. They are decidedly a southern football progrum. CU was the one from that region that had some fit.
I'd still like to see the B12 blow up and the old Big 8 reform, getting Nebraska and OU back together. Adding Texas to that old group would make a great conference.
