A guy literally killed another guy a couple weeks ago on the far NE side of Tucson in a road rage incident. They were both white though, so who cares…

My guess at this point
Whatever Happened, if anything, was relatively innocuous.
But I once heard that 20 year old girls tend to overreact to things and something as simple as a honk or a cat call from a passing automobile suddenly became an overt racially charged interaction amongst a group of chattering girls.
Then at some team function later on a car somewhat resembling the one seen earlier was parked at the hotel and since this thing had already taken a life of its own, the incident was then reported to coaches and team admins.
In an abundance of caution both teams moved hotels for player safety. Once this “event” hit social media the next logical step was to file a police report because you’re in deep and you almost have to at that point. The press catches wind of what’s going on and the stakes really start to go up.
2 days later and these girls are probably scared…not by the initial interaction but much more by what this thing has become in the national spotlight and now it’s time to circle the wagons and go to ground.
Hence no video and no one doing interviews and no suspect and no clear descriptive pieces of evidence to move an investigation forward. But the team, police, and media now all have to play the string out for the time being.

- Do I think diesel trucks rev their engines in CDA? Yes. It’s a thing. Every single hour of every single day.
- Do I think a truck with confederate flag was driving through downtown CDA? Highly unlikely. Like .0001% probability. More likely a US Flag. Like a 50/50 chance of that. Very common.
- Is it possible that some woke university official ‘warned’ the team that CDA is a hotbed of racism? 100% guaranteed.
- Is it possible that some kids were rolling through downtown CDA bumping some lyrics that included the N-word? Very probable. More likely on a summer night but still not unusual in downtown CDA. It used to be called ‘cruising’ for you youngsters.
- Is it possible that drunk booster combined 1,2, 3 and 4 in some embellished tale. 99.7% chance.
- Will the CDA police ever find the culprits? 5%. The news cycle will eventually take it off the page. But the urban myth will live on until the next time they can smear the town

It’s like when white women used to claim they were the victims of gang rape by African Americans in the south. People use race to stir emotions because that’s what our media does. When someone leads with race as a flashpoint, I always roll my eyes.

On March 22, CNN touted a "major development" in the Trayvon Martin case when it released a report including enhanced audio techniques that alleged George Zimmerman used a racial slur before shooting and killing the unarmed Martin. Now, the network is not so sure.
