Agree. Is what it is. I do think the job is hard as fuck, they have to work 24/7 to earn those big dollars, and there's a constant, ulcer inducing threat of losing one's career quickly for failing to quickly deliver on the expectations that come with all that money.

This is such a retarded metric. The metric is not: how much do you spend?

It’s: what are you getting for your money?

Can you imagine going to your boss and being like “we spent $1M on our RFP!!!” And the boss asking, “did you get the contract?” And the answer being “well, no. But we spent a million dollars! Isn’t that great!” Lmao,

If we lost DeBoer to Minnesota due to a salary bump, then you’d have a point.

But we haven’t. And when a team tried to poach Grubb, we raised his pay to keep him.

Flushing money down the toilet is not a sign of a good football program (hi, Texas ATM!). Having the resources necessary AND making smart investments is the key.

To date, we have secured the return of all draft-eligible players (fingers crossed for Rome), have not had any coaches poached, and have not had any impact players transfer out. That’s money we’ll spent.

In fact a single Buckeye offensive lineman Dewand Jones makes more than Penix. Facts are fun. I want UW to be part of the big money football race. But when a new UW coach is paid less than the Oregon State Beavers out of the gate and bumping an assistant by half a stick is the claim we are really in it to win it?
