Weirdly, espn.com let me just stream a replay of the game, so I actually got to watch it all.
As shitty as the defense was, I felt this game was way more under control than Oregon. The interception was a freak thing. That throw was going to be a Westy touchdown until Inspector Gadget got his ten-foot-long arms out and tipped it.
You watch that offensive effort, and it sort of lends credence to the conspiracy theories of hiding the tight ends, screens, and backs out of the backfield the last few weeks. Great run
ass balance, mature play-calling and plan.
The defense? At one point the commentary team mentioned that USC leads the conference in missed tackles, and I was like, "Fuck you; no fucking way!" If Trice brought down quarterbacks even half the time he has hands on them, he's still looking at a second day draft grade. The ratio of physical-contact-to-quarterback to actual sacks has got to be some kind of record.
Speaking of records, one of you incels needs to get on the Komo 4 and figure out if Lincoln Riley is the coach with the most losses while scoring over 40 points. I mean... he has to be, right?
