OFFICIAL Washington vs. UCLA Game Thread

I’ve never ordered or drank a latte or had the desire to try one, thankfully I’m not gay like many here.
@caronabruin is going to drop a load or 7 in his socks once he sees the package on his greased up bruin in the Speedo above.
Unfortunately I’m 81% sure we lose tomorrow when you factor in the fact that Fisch never has his team properly prepared at kickoff on the road. Our decades long struggles with UCLA home or away. I have never been more disappointed walking out of Husky Stadium than 1990 when we lost to an inferior bruin team than 1990. Although Lewis got hurt, we still should have beat those fuckers and likely win back to back natties and not share with Miami in 91. What a shitty day in HS 35 years ago.
If by some miracle we win tomorrow this will give us a fighting chance to keep the game with Oregon close with a punchers chance of finishing 3-0 with 3 games remaining. Oops just remembered our bowl game will be on the road, scratch that.
When UW comes out flat tomorrow and we lose rather easy, this season will be a huge failure squarely on Jed’s shoulders. Prove me wrong Fischy #woof

10 wins isn’t happening.
Very unlikely especially since only one of the 3 remaining games are in Seattle. A win tomorrow (which seems unlikely also) would go along way in assuring the Oregon game is competitive.
I’d love to see SC beat Oregon tomorrow and hopefully dent their recruiting if only a tiny fraction. Much prefer SC to the playoffs than the zeros. If Oregon beats SC tomorrow and we somehow pull out a win that last game of the season at Husky Stadium will be rocking. Only had we not punted the Wisconsin game. 🤬

Beating UCLA doesn't prove anything.

Beating UCLA doesn't prove anything.
Beating any Big Ten team for UW is significant because if we lose tomorrow Fisch is 1-8 on the road in conference. Plus we have struggled for years against the bruins at home and away.
Beating UCLA would be the first step of going 3-0 so it would be a big win. Had we not had a miracle 2nd half comeback at Maryland Fisch would have zero conference road wins which is fireable alone. Winning 3 straight is a pipe dream and probably under 10% likely and I’d settle for coming out of the gate playing decent in the first quarter with a punch let’s chance to win the game. If we come out slow and down 10 points going into the 2nd half we could easily go 0-3

UW has gotten in trouble on the road when Fisch / Daugherty have made Demond throw too often and too early. The staff does a pretty good job of scripting the first 10-15 plays but then things tend to go sideways (or backwards) once they get into the game flow.
UCLA has some big DTs but they aren't particularly good so might as well pound away with the run game and stay ahead of the chains. With Denzel and RVB out, I'd like to see a ton of 2 TE sets with both DeGraaf and Moore on the field. I'd also like to see some plays where DeGraaf is lined up as FB or having both Coleman / Mohammed and Washington in the backfield.
I saw the Seahawks run some plays with Barner at FB and then play-action with Barner running a route out of the backfield. I like that because it makes the LBs think more pre-snap about what may be coming.

Same lineup that just killed a team last weekend. Short flight. No excuses, fuck UCLA, get it the fuck done Jedd.

Azzopardi out is addition by subtraction
We'll see. He's actually been decent this year and the OL was a mess when he went out against Wisconsin. Fortunately they figured it out in the prep week before Purdue (Mills at RT and Finau in at LG) but even having Azzopardi as a back-up over Faasolo would be ideal.
