OFFICIAL Washington vs. Illinois Game Thread

The pass rush definitely was better in the 2nd half.
I have to hand it to Fisch, the team needed a win badly here and he got it done. This is his first win against a ranked team since Oct of 2024.
Now they get a bye and a chance to get as healthy as they've been since Week 1.
Rashid Williams should be back too.
I thought Elinneus Davis and Jacob Lane looked the best on the DL, along with #11. All almost got sacks. Need to use the budget to get a good DT to pair with Davis next year and a very good Edge to pair with Lane.
I would love to pay good money for a big time edge and take a couple fliers on edge guys that have produced at lower levels for next year. I also think they move Alexander to edge since we will have 3-4 good ILB’s. He was practicing there earlier in the year.
Good point about Alexander. I wonder if they have Hayden Moore move on and replace him with a higher upside guy from a lower conference team.

Durfee has a case for another year as well

He needs to move on as well, adds nothing of value. Tons of PR opportunities with nothing to show.

Just reading Fisch's body language and eyes when he gets interviewed, I think he plans to bail in year 3-5.
He's here "temporarily".
If he miraculously wins out this year he’s gone. Less than 1% chance that happens.
If we don’t shit the bed at ucla, we could be playing Oregon at home with a chance to finish tied for 3rd and beating Oregon and playoff bound at 10-2. Like you said, less than 1% we win out with 2 B1G away games. The bye couldn’t come at a better time at 6-2 with a little confidence beating a ranked team rather easy.

If they could Rhino Cum Ward up to 245-250 that would be a great addition. At 6’5” 230 he’s just too skinny to be effective.

Bernard and Boston along with Cuevaz at TE is boner material. Move Landen to guard and Parker at center and this team beat Ohio State and Michigan

EDGE is the main position they need to go hard to make short term and long term improvements at next year. The only guy on the roster who shows anything is Lane, and he hasn't done much in a few games and isn't a game changer. We have very little shot to beat any legit playoff contender type teams with zero pass rush.
