Esteen back to his usual shitty self.
Sarksure.gifNow with a hard cap of $22 million next year (and real NIL marketing deals going through a legitimate clearing house), it will be much harder for Ohio State and Oregon to buy guys from relatively well-resourced programs. Going into the 2024 season and somewhat into 2025 (the new rules started July 1st), it was the wild west and money was flowing like a cabs that drink like merlots.
For instance, after July 1st, Oregon lost multiple 4 star recruits because the promises of rich NIL deals were no longer deliverable. They lost Kodi Greene to UW, a DT or two to USC, and maybe another guy.
So the rules didn't change on July 1st?Sarksure.gifNow with a hard cap of $22 million next year (and real NIL marketing deals going through a legitimate clearing house), it will be much harder for Ohio State and Oregon to buy guys from relatively well-resourced programs. I don't think you understand the "rules". This ruling forced universities to pay at least $22M to all student athletes, collectively. Any additional $$ that is NIL counts as fair market value. Good luck. After what happened to UW post National Championship game, the rule changes and semi-hard cap of $22 million for 2026 are very welcome.
I think you are counting on something that won’t make any difference. After what happened to UW post National Championship game, the rule changes and semi-hard cap of $22 million for 2026 are very welcome.
