The last time I was in the one bar in the town I live in outside of Woolley it was 7pm on a college football Saturday and every TV was somehow playing a cleft palate infomercial. The lone sweathog who was working on a Saturday night somehow did the whole yeah I will thing when I asked if we could change to ABC then just never did it and I was too annoyed to follow up.

We could a podcast just about how weird of a vibe the sports bar we did the pod in that one time in Everett was but Northwest sports bar is one of the weirdest third places spaces in the universe. One of the keys being no one is ever watching sports in them and they're usually mystified when you ask if you can. Those bars are oddly the most actually diverse places I have ever been in my entire life, which includes 10+ years in LA.

Yeah they started doing karaoke in the middle of our show, if I remember right.

It was Creed karaoke, yes. There was also a guy in a completely faded Curtis Williams jersey. Then of course the actually fairly decent looking young chick who was throwing up in the parking lot.
 
When I was at a coug establishment last week I didn't think about where UW's B1GT game was going to be on before leaving my house and didn't have the heart to ask them to find Peacock 😂

I had called that bar ahead of time saying we're looking for a place to record a pod. "Oh sure, come on in!" Then twenty minutes in, here comes the Creed karaoke.
 
Funny in my head Victoria is not a blue collar sports town but they have sports on everywhere at least. Waitresses need coaching but are usually happy to switch channels as well

Id also laugh at dudes doing a podcast in a dive bar.

Much better, me and Joey were in Victoria last month. Per-capita the attractive woman ratio is off the charts. A woman there didn't laugh at us but she came up to us and asked if we were doing a podcast in the middle of the podcast. Joey got rid of her by telling her we would talk about Trump later.
