I now see why you didn't want to be explicit with your "gotcha". Landed like a lead balloon.
Everyone tried to negotiate with the Nazis at some point, and for good reason. And we effectively tried to negotiate with them by staying out of it until we decided to not stay out of it. I'm glad we didn't stay out of it. You and your friends would have been in the crowd panicking like little girls.
This isn't complicated. If our involvement improves anything, it's at least a partial win. If not, it's a loss.
Nobody thinks they're a bad ass. They just have a POV that is different from your own. Nobody here is a big talker because nobody here is doing anything or making any decisions. They are merely, again, expressing a POV that is different from your own. I don't get where you're getting this "you guys think you're tough" nonsense. It's like you're in 5th grade.
I have stated clearly the things that would count as "wins" in this campaign. If one or more comes to pass, then it was a good move. If not, then obviously, it wasn't.
But one thing I'm not doing is standing here rooting for things to go badly so I can say retarded things like "Daddy" and celebrate victory for a shitty and oppressive government that opposes our interests and those of our friends at every turn.
Yes, the campaign in Iraq was a mistake. This could be or it could not be. They aren't the same thing. Iran has been a problem for a long time. At the very least, I would think you would be pulling for a fucking up of their infrastructure and real damage to their ability, financial and otherwise, to continue sponsoring terror proxies. I would think you would think that's a good thing, regardless of who the POTUS is. But that's not how the left works in this country, or any other. Which is one reason why I have moved from left of center.
