Truer words have never been spoken.

It felt good to finally watch a full DWAGS game this season, but my goodness the defense looked sloppy. My dead grandmother (no pics) could’ve tackled better. Seems like Penix was slow at the start, but once he got his rhythm going he was amazing (😁). While I feel silly now being so pessimistic pre-game, I think my refusal to Doog is understandable. Winning a bowl game would go a long way to changing my glass-half-empty mentality.

Being pessimistic was understandable. And it wasn’t like the game wasn’t still in doubt halfway through the fourth quarter. UW did a lot of shitty things to keep Cuog close all game long.

Kept stepping on their own dicks with dumbass penalties, untimely turnovers and more lame-ass tackling.

Did Cuog players have grease on their uniforms?

Absolutely they did. *We all knew they'd have some plan to make up for UW and snow-gate a few years ago.

The oac 12 refs knew but were trying not to be such a big part of the game this week and elected not to say anything

The ASU game planted the seed of pessimism. And the way this game started off, with UW not completing passes and the Cougs getting away with all kinds of cheap shot penalties, that old unnerving feeling of this not being UW's night began to linger.

Fortunately Penix adjusted to the conditions, got dialed in, and started hitting all his targets downfield.

The other justifiable source for pessimism was the UW defense. Credit the defensive coaches for adjusting their schemes at halftime to respond to in-game conditions, but the lack of good positioning and tackling, along with PAC-12 refs inconsistencies on pass interference calls, had me very concerned if WSU started airing it out.

One good thing about the D is how glaringly obvious the weaknesses are, which should make them easier to fill going forward.
