Myself, @UW_Doog_Bot and @dnc have been talking about and working on making the crystal dongs official.

If you would like to have input on how we do it, please comment here or PM us with any ideas.

Right now the points formula we have is based on days the dong was correct, and the player's 247 grade (more points for better players). Here is the link to the formula if you want to play around with it.

Anyways, prepare your dongs.

And to be clear, neighbor and doogbot are doing all the heavy lifting here, I’m just the asshole who keeps bringing it up.

No, there will be a google form we will pin a link to in a thred. You will simply enter your username, a unique ID so that no one can submit false dongs, recruit name, and school predicted to.
 
I see. So choosing recruits to other schools is fine as well? I assume that player needs to be recruited by UW for it to be relevant.

No changes is the one thing I'm pretty adamant about.

I think we could do changes if we wanted, the point formula isn't too favorable if you flip the pick right before someone announces.

If there are changes allowed, then I’m just going to dong every plausible recruit to UW on day 1 and change the ones we fade on once that becomes obvious.

Dongs should only be made if you’ve gotten to the point where you feel confident enough in it, otherwise they don’t mean much

Just create a "wrong dong" penalty imo. If you made the initial wrong dong and received a -5 even if you swapped it as it stands you'd have to swap it 7 days out or so for it not to be a net negative score anyways.

Edit: So all dongs essentially get recorded and you could submit multiple dongs for a player but the negative scoring is going to make it prohibitive for you to try and use this as a hedging strategy.

Agree. That is the best strategy in my opinion.

When you submit a new dong for a player the prior dong is now completely eliminated correct? There should never be more than 1 active dong for a single player.

Wait, this is about recruit predictions? I saw the thread title and thought Hardcore Husky was finally launching some merch. My wife's going to be disappointed.

What I liked most about seeing this thread is that I wasn't even consulted. It makes me a little scared the ninjas are planning a palace coup and I would never even notice, but my laziness and desire to have them make me look good while I do nothing overcomes my fear of overthrow every tim.

Good job ninjas. It's obvious nobody cares, but I like this idea.
