That's the conversation my uncle and I have had. He's always trying to talk me into coming down there with promises of $300,000 mcmansions and pools and shit. But the property taxes are truly ridiculous.

I'm sure. But it's all relative. Do we want to do a relative home price comparison between greater Seattle and greater Dallas/FW? Tell me who wins/loses in that one and I'll just believe you because I honestly don't actually know anything about Texas home prices other than what a few people tell me. Never had occassion to look into it as I would if I were actually considering moving there.

I’ve been fiscally red and socially liberal my whole life and this is the first place I didn’t feel like I’m watching a slow motion social car wreck.

Driving through downtown LA...so many businesses boarded up & in the process of boarding up. Same thing happening in Beverly Hills & Santa Monica in anticipation of election night. All 3 areas hit hard by looters & rioters during George Floyd unrest.
