I’m thinking Lake wants Monken because he respecks the kind of offense he ran at Southern Miss but it is going to cost a shit ton of money to get him to give up the NFL or an opportunity to go back to Oklahoma State and reunite with his mulleted buddy.

In all seriousness tho, find an OC who will maximize Sam Huard’s ability. Shouldn’t be that hard to sell an OC job when you can give the guy control of the offense, have some promising looking young talent in the program and the #1 QB recruit in the country coming in.

There are still some good names out there but nobody wants sloppy seconds. Moorehead would be cataclysmic, Moore would leave me listening to Morrisey with a belt around my neck. Oregon still
needs a guy but im not sure if we’re actually competing with them for the same hires. The NFL guy still playing idea holds some water but not much imo.

I would rather LIPO and get the right guy then rush to hire someone. I know everyone else would too, but there are still a lot of coaching moves to be made in the NFL and guys will become available. Probably a couple in college too.

We are going to hate the hire. Either he will have been fired from somewhere, inexperienced, or been unimpressive at one of his stops. It’s basically the ultimate LIPO scenario. We suck on offense until we don’t. Same for QB.

We all hated sizzle and off-season natty’s. It made us thankful we got Pete. Now it seems like the bdtw craves it (in more than one way) and it’s really fucking annoying.

All of the supposed candidates are still in play other than Lashlee who probably wasn’t a fit anyways. I agree that it would suck to miss out on our preferred guy, but that hasn’t happened. It also will probably be someone we don’t even expect, which seems to be what commonly happens when we have coaching openings.

But for all we know Kellen Moore is and always has been our #1 target. Just because 'our' favorite targets are getting hired doesn't mean we are being too slow.
