Not only are we not a national brand

When Penix wins the Heisman and UW wins the National Championship next year, UW will vault into the Blue Bloods category #cookit

Here is the blue blood list perhttps://www.gambleonline.co/blog/who-are-the-blue-bloods-of-college-football/

  1. Bama
  2. Michigan
  3. Nebraska
  4. The Irish
  5. Ohio St
  6. Oklahomo
  7. Texas
  8. USC

and the ones that barely missed out
    UGA
    Penn State
    LSU
    FSU
    Florida
    Miami
    Clemson
    Tennessee
    Auburn
    Washington
Edit - We are the bottom of the elites I think

If I had to make a list of "blue bloods,'' one of the eliminating criteria would be not having a title in the last 20 years. Or pick another number.

To me, the programs that matter now and have mattered for quite some time are:

Alabama
Ohio State
LSU
Clemson
Georgia - just gets in for back to back, but let's not forget who they've been for a quite a while. A ton of recency bias in this one.
Oklahoma, and though they win consistently and play at a high level, they are on the cusp of falling off since they don't tend to get it done on the big stage. Last natty was 2000, and as it is it was flawed. Even Miami's is more recent.

The rest is mental masturbation.

I might add USC, but then thought, nah. They were dominant under Pete, but were mostly flaccid for a bit before Pete and have been mostly mediocre since. Plus, there are enough Huskies? stroking them as it is. We? don't need another one.

How is Florida State left off that list? 14 years in the top 5 is not something every-day-progams accomplish. They've won a shit-ton of major bowls, produced a lot of really great players (and still do) and have 3 natties. All of this accomplished post-civil war. If Auburn, UW, Tennessee and PSU are on this list, then so are the Seminoles. It's not even a discussion.

Rick turned UW into Florida State of the West. Some people forget that

Florida State of the West > Clemson of the West

Rick was a messiah, when he started playing guitar, I fell in love with the program.

I thought that was Fresneck, what with DeBoer and all.

Some of you need to get your reads down. If you don't think Nebraska is a blue blood you don't know ball
