We can call it football as soon as goals can't be scored by using a part of your body other than your foot (it should be called no-hands-except-on-throw-ins-and-by-the-goalie-ball). The really football is older and played by Australians on a giant oval pitch. You can only score goals by kicking it in that sport. Hell, technically, in soccer a goalie can throw the ball into the goal and it counts. Also, fun fact, in the original rules of association football you could catch the ball and strike it with your hand! So fuck all soccer fans who call it football.
