No SNAP in White Wakanda

This isn't a bad idea. Just wonder how you enforce it, when some one shows up to the register with a SNAP debit card with some fruits and veggies along with some 2 liter soda jugs?
 
Don't make me post the free lunch schedule from White Wakanda elementary though!

To your point SNAP doesn't subsidize big alcohol or tobacco.
You'll find no bigger hater of big soda than Yella so I'm open to ideas on this front.

I mean alcohol is an easy once since checkers already police this. But chips and soda ? That’s putting a lot more nanny state burden on checkers.
 
it’s seems to me this could be enforced pretty easily with electronic means. Self-checkout will give you two bills - one for SNAP and your co-pay for the dog shit.

Yeah - pretty sure the allowable items are programmed in at the supermarkets HQ.
They can still buy soda and candy but a total cash due is displayed.

Yup, this is how WIC works. Could just add SNAP onto whatever platform WIC runs on
 
Once upon a time folks had to pull out paper food stamps in line and then our soft asses thought it was mean to embarrass people so they went to cards that looked like a debit card
The old theory was that a little embarrassment is a good push to get off food stamps. Now it becomes a permanent feature passed down through the generations. TITTT I know but its true
It's an entitlement now
 
I’m completely on bored with this. Watching people drop $40 in snap benefits on gas station garbage is infuriating. Not to mention they’re making me wait longer for my lip pillows.
