I can understand the sentiment, but nah, the 2019 team was top 20 by almost all advanced metric, underachiever at 8-5. Plus the recruiting was still really good. A rested and recharged Pete is likely better than what we would hire.

A former boss and I had a way of looking at people in a working environment that went something like this …

A players want to be surrounded by other A players … they are focused on success/winning at high levels and know being surrounded by other talented people is their best bet to do so

B players are mediocre and tend to focus on things other than primary results because they can’t deliver them as well as A players

A players don’t particularly like being surrounded by B players because they know that they threaten performance. When A players are in positions of leadership they tend to seek out the highest performing people/teams possible

B players don’t like A players because they can be made to look bad by them. When B players are in positions of power they tend to surround themselves with increasingly weak performers so that their power isn’t threatened

When you look at the primary characters in the UW AD and coaching, by and large the positions are held by a bunch of B caliber players … Jen being paramount in that
