I am by no means rich.

I live a very comfortable life and for that I am thankful. I still work hard because I enjoy my industry and the lifestyle it affords me. I have a wonderful family and a large group friends that we’ve known for a long time, some of them more than 30 years.

In our community there are many, many people who are everything that Haie pretends to be. None of them behave like he does as it’s universally frowned upon. Every now and then you get the guy who gets in way over his skis at the Christmas party or Member/Guest, but they’re usually corrected in short order.

I guess what I’m saying is that it’s incredibly easy to see the imposter in the room because he can’t ever stop telling you to look at him.

I have a good friend who works in the intelligence community and one of the best pieces of knowledge for interacting with them he ever gave me is similar to this.

In that community, People who brag openly about their role/access/clearance are lying and/or have meaningless jobs. People who won’t talk about what they do or say they are just paper pushers for USAID were probably torturing some dude at a black site in Pakistan in the last 20 years.

That's basic human nature. Normal, healthy, well adjusted people do not brag to anyone about how rich they are, including their friends, but especially not strangers. The people who do talk about their money or their hot wives, or what kind of car they drive are almost always major league doosh-bags and untrustworthy.

Seriously, what are some of the biggest red flags for you when you meet someone new. In no particular order the list has to include anyone who brags about their wealth.
Second would be anyone who talks about their recent sexual conquests and their "hot" girlfriends/wives. I've had friends for 30 plus years and we've never talked about sex or their wives/girlfriends. They want to talk about their wife I won't shut the conversation down but I'm not bringing it up unless I know their wife has been ill or they're pregnant.
Racial slurs. If I've just met someone and they start dropping the racial slurs I'm out.
What kind of car they drive. If the conversation comes up and it's organic, yeah maybe but if someone just introduces it apropo of nothing, the fact that they drive some expensive car or hell even that they drive an electric car, they are a cunt and to be avoided.
